Everything I’m Half-Invested In Right Now
Things I’m Not Watching (But Might)
Plurbius
From the creator of Breaking Bad, it currently has 100 percent on Rotten Tomatoes. But if you’re looking to Rotten Tomatoes for advice on what to watch, maybe look within.
All Her Fault
I recently signed up for Peacock to watch a British sitcom from the 2000s that my friend Sam Lansky recommended (Coupling). So now I have access to All Her Fault and will probably watch it. It stars Sarah Snook from Succession and I briefly saw a post that it is based on a true story. That is all I know.
Frankenstein
You are either my friend Nicole who has already watched it twice or like me, you tried the first five minutes and got emotionally bored but not visually bored.
Wellness Trend: Somatic
It is all the talk right now and it makes sense but also doesn’t. The idea is that we keep trauma in the body, cue book recommendation The Body Keeps the Score, a title that really says it all. I have not read it but I believe it is true.
If your friend comes home from a somatic retreat, be patient with her. You now speak different languages.
Podcasts I Listen to for Hanging Out Reasons
This is a type of podcast that is not about learning, it is about hanging out with voices. Do not come here to grow. Come here to absorb exactly how your friendships should sound.
Too Far w/Robby Hoffman
Your new favorite comedian. She grew up Hasidic in a family of eleven and is currently shaming her engineer boyfriend to grow up and stop having his mom do his laundry. She is effortlessly honest and it is refreshing. She has a new Netflix special coming soon directed by John Mulaney. Also, she loves to say subscribing to her is less than a cup of coffee. Such great marketing lingo.
Seek Treatment (Pat Regan and Cat Cohen)
They end every episode by asking: “Do you feel hot today?” “Are you mad at me?” and “Who is your crush of the week?” If you do not want to listen, just ask your three best friends these questions and it will feel the same.
The World’s First Podcast (Erin and Sara Foster)
Full disclosure, one of the hosts is my best friend and the other is her sister who I consider a friend and she considers me a “family friend.” I actually listen to catch up on how they are doing since they live such busy lives.
I did not grow up with sisters so I love the mix of tension and loyalty. I recommend this. Most guests I have not heard of but end up following, and when it is just the two of them, it is dangerous for me because I forget to actually call and check in.
The Tim Dillon Show
Do I feel safe listening to this podcast? Absolutely not. But I think it is good to edge yourself sometimes. We agree on everything macro and nothing micro and that is okay. I never want to meet him in person, but when he spends twenty minutes ranting about obese adults who go to Disneyland and have food adventures, I am in.
Things I’m Watching on TikTok
I am on Mounjaro. This required a deep lie to a telehealth company where I basically had to put bricks in my pockets to say I weighed more than I did. Anyway, I got the drug and I support it mostly because I want to feel better about myself.
So now I watch tons of videos from “GLP-1 advocates,” which is apparently a real term. They show how they take the shot, you can do it in your thigh or arm too. I am not a doctor or even authentically eligible, but that is what I watch.
Also, my new friend Jen Meyer just recommended reaction videos of people finding out they passed the bar exam. She was right, so emotional. We need more lawyers, fewer influencers. Or maybe just influencer lawyers. Here you go
Books I’m Trying to Read
Heart the Lover by Lily King
I have recommended this to five people without having read. Full disclosure it came from my slack friends and it gave me false confidence to recommend . They all loved it. I cannot get past the first few pages. This is a me problem.
How to Keep Up With Your Friends
Hear me out. A group chat or if you are serious, a Slack for friends. That might sound too intense, so start simple. Name your group chat and make the purpose clear.
“Who wants to work out?”
“Back to Basics” (for basic bitches only)
Then make your group chat meet in person. That is how you build community.
Apps to Download
Libby
Connect it to your local library card and download books for free. If your library does not have the title you want, they will usually order it for you. You can also browse what is popular, which right now is basically every Emily Henry book. My friend told me about this app years ago, I would tag her but she is above being online.
Dazz Cam
My friend Sam Lansky told me about this one after hearing about it from a trusted teenager. It makes every photo look like cool, clean film and it stores them seamlessly. Trust us.

Buying, watching & listening to whatever you say!
